Who makes this and how it works
FightIndex.io ranks UFC fighters on what they have actually done in the cage, using a repeatable calculation over public fight data. It exists because most rankings reward name recognition and recent headlines, and there was no obvious place to see the same question answered the same way every week.
One person, building under the name Moetive. No team, no investors, no promotional partners. That is worth knowing when you read the numbers: no one is paying to appear higher, because there is no one to pay.
Every statistic is derived from publicly available fight records — bout results, round-by-round statistics, and event listings. Results are ingested after each card and the rankings rebuild on a weekly schedule. The data sources page lists what is used, and the methodology page explains how the ranking is calculated.
FightIndex is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the UFC, Zuffa, or any promotion, sportsbook, or fighter management. Fighter names and event names are used descriptively to report public results.
The model is a model. It works from what has been recorded, which means it cannot see a camp change, an injury, or a bad weight cut. Predictions are estimates of likelihood and are published as analysis, not as betting advice — see responsible gaming.
Reader support, through the support page. There is no advertising network on this site and no sportsbook sponsorship. If a commercial relationship is ever added, it will be disclosed on the page where it appears rather than buried in the terms.
Corrections to fight data are genuinely welcome — a wrong result in the source propagates into the rankings, and the fastest way it gets fixed is someone pointing at it. Email hello@fightindex.io or use the contact page.
